GATES MILLS—Orange’s boys’ tennis team defended its Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division title at Hawken on Saturday.
The Lions finished the tournament with 23 points, four more than second-place Hawken. Beachwood finished third with 15 points.
Chagrin Falls’ Andrew Zimcosky also earned a repeat as the tournament MVP after defeating Orange’s Ben Pomeranets in first singles in a rematch of the 2021 state championship match.
Hawken’s Zach Forte finished third in first singles.
Orange’s Chika Nwaozuzu defeated Hawken’s Axel Neely in the championship match at second singles. Beachwood’s Nick Harmer finished third.
Hawken’s Finn Rourke won the third singles title by defeating Orange’s Noah Lurie. Beachwood’s Max Rindsberg placed third.
Orange swept the doubles competition with Jake Goldstein and Gabi Kalir winning in first doubles and Krish Mehra and Ace Bloom taking the title in second doubles.
Hawken’s Berend Diderich and Praveen Kumar placed second in first doubles and Ryan Levine and Ashwin Balarishnan were third in second doubles.
Beachwood’s Andy Jin and Tori Yang placed third in first doubles and Adam Ritzenberg and Ethan Luxembourg placed second and second doubles.
