Perry returns three starters from last season and the Pirates have several other capable golfers to fill in the rest of the lineup.
Coach Dave Kahoun is looking forward to see what his 2019 squad can accomplish.
“We are extremely excited about the 2019 girls golf season,” Kahoun said. “We have three returning starters and know that the Perry girls golf team will compete at a much higher level than last year. (Our) goals are to win our division in the (Chagrin Valley Conference) and have our team move on past the sectional tournament.”
The Pirates finished 5-9 in dual meets last season.
Juniors Rachel Cumberledge, Olivia Schafer and Zoe Wiley are the team’s returning starters and most veteran players.
Junior Jenika Finch, sophomores Ashley Anderson and Emily Culligan and freshman Emma Pietrzak will provide depth.
“Ashely Anderson and Emma Pietrzak will also push the starters,” Kahoun said. “Emily Culligan and Jenika Finch are improving immensely and we have a full JV squad to build for the future.”
Sophomore Jocelyn Lagania and freshmen Meadow Pike, Jessica Wills, Jenna Gain and Olivia Seifrick round out the Perry roster.
