Wickliffe shoots 177 in win over Heights

Wickliffe avenged an early-season loss when the Blue Devils defeated visiting Cuyahoga Heights on Monday, 177-202.

“Our team had a great overall effort today and it was great to have a team round back in the 170s,” Wickliffe coach Harrison McCall said. “It was great to come back and rebound after a close loss earlier in the year in our first matchup.”

Leading the way for the Blue Devils once again was Calvin Cackowski, who shot a match-low 37. Noah Telisman added a 44 and Ryan Latkovich and A.J. Levon closed out the scoring with a 47 and a 49, respectively.

“Calvin Cackowski has been our No. 1 golfer for every match this year and has been our most consistent golfer,” McCall said. “He set the tone for the entire match with his 37. Another key performance today came from Noah Telisman. Noah was our No. 5 golfer today but finished with the second-best score in the entire match. Having Noah shoot a 44 today from the five spot was a big boost to our lineup and helped to solidify the win. Noah has shown a great amount of improvement from the beginning of summer activities and it is great to see those improvements displayed in a match.”
