Zschuppe scores three in Kirtland’s win at Hawken

Sophomore Erika Zschuppe scored three goals to lead Kirtland to a 6-1 Chagrin Valley Conference Chagrin Division win at Hawken on Thursday.

Junior Aria Evans-Roskos added a pair of goals and senior Maya Zovko scored one.

“This senior class is very driven,” Kirtland coach Ed Bradac said about his Hornets. “They have set goals for this team and today was just one step toward one of those goals, to win the Chagrin Valley Conference.”

Zovko assisted on three goals while senior Lidia Rodin finished with two assists and sophomore Giuliana Vladic added one.

Junior Corinne Aquila recorded three saves in the win.

Kirtland improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.

The Hornets travel south to Warsaw, Ohio on Monday to play Parkersburg South in the River View Labor Day Showcase. Parkersburg South has advanced to the West Virginia AAA regional championship game in each of the past three seasons.
